Dandelion

Standing in the wind,

I stop to breathe in the golden air.

Streams of sunshine pour down from above,

Sunshine touches my face and my skin rejuvenates.

I am a dandelion in the wind.

My hair starts to swirl above,

I see the strands fall away.

Tears well up and I try to smile,

Wind carries my anxiety away,

I wonder how I got to this place.

I am a dandelion in the wind.

He fills my heart with gladness,

I swell with hope and faith.

Through the battle I will rise,

I watch my hair fall around me.

I am a dandelion in the wind.

The wind slows and I reach above,

I feel the smooth curve of my scalp.

The anticipation has passed,

I breathe in and continue down the path He cleared for me.

Through this battle I will rise,

I am a dandelion in the wind.
